GBM to PUTRAJAYA 📣📣Govern First, Elections Later ‼️Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM) notes the recent remarks by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi favouring an earlier GE-16, as well as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s indication that such a proposal could be considered.GBM believes that the priority now should not be an early election, but delivering the reforms Malaysians were promised.GE-15 came with strong public expectations for institutional reform, better governance, greater accountability, stronger action against corruption, and fairer treatment for all Malaysians. Nearly four years later, several important reforms remain incomplete. The Unity Government still has time and a mandate to govern. It should use this opportunity to demonstrate that Reformasi is measured by delivery, not rhetoric.Calling an early election before substantial progress is achieved risks further weakening public confidence in both the Government and the wider reform agenda.GBM therefore urges the Government to govern first, deliver measurable reforms, and only then return to the people for a renewed mandate.Complete the reforms. Show the results. Then face the voters.GE-16 should be fought on performance, not promises.#malaysia #MalaysiaMadani #politik #politikmalaysia #GE16 ...

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆 🌺Manifesto Rakyat is a collective of voices and policy ideas from the Malaysian people, including those from your organisation who wish to see Malaysia grow prosperous and its people happy. In 2022, Manifesto Rakyat achieved considerable success in bringing our advocacy voices directly to many major coalition parties. A substantial amount of our policy ideas were adopted and incorporated into their political manifestos, forming a communication bridge between the policy idea proposers and the parties that came to power after GE15.A notable success was the passing of Federal Constitution amendments allowing Malaysian mothers who give birth overseas to automatically pass on Malaysian citizenship by operation of law. This was achieved with cross-party support from all parties, thanks to the advocacy work carried out by Family Frontiers in collaboration with Manifesto Rakyat, which initially provided them with a platform to engage with all the major parties. We believe that your organisation and yourself have many brilliant and useful policy ideas for our beloved nation, Malaysia. We hope that political parties will have the opportunity to listen to and consider your proposals. We have 34 policy areas open to contributions from your organisation and yourself.
